Lesson 02 · Mastering Legendary Ideas with Ad Legends
Taught by Dave Metcalf · Executive Creative Director & Legendary Copywriter | Ad Legends Academy
Learn how to fill out the creative brief form to unlock the best possible ideas from your selected Legends.
The brief form has 6 fields. Getting them right is the single biggest lever for better ideas.
Brand / Product Name — The brand or product you're advertising. If you have a saved Brand Profile, select it from the dropdown and the name fills automatically.
Target Audience — Describe who you're trying to reach. Be specific: demographics, interests, pain points. "Busy millennial parents who feel guilty about screen time" works better than "parents aged 25-40."
Key Message / Objective — What's the main message or goal? This drives the campaign direction. "Make people feel safe switching banks" is more useful than "promote our bank."
Tone / Style — How should the campaign feel? Options like Professional, Bold, Playful, or Luxurious guide the Legend's creative output. You can enter multiple tones.
Unique Selling Point — What makes your product different? This is the secret weapon. The AI is specifically instructed to make every idea leverage your USP. Leave this blank and you get more generic ideas.
Brief Title — Give your brief a name. If you leave it blank, the AI generates one for you.
Four fields are required: Brand/Product Name, Target Audience, Key Message/Objective, and Tone/Style. The Unique Selling Point, Brand Profile, and Brief Title are optional but recommended for better results.
The USP is central to the AI's creative approach. The system prompt instructs each Legend to pay special attention to the Unique Selling Point analysis and develop ideas that leverage and enhance this USP. Adding a clear USP produces more focused, differentiated ideas.
Yes. If you've created brands in Ad Legends' Brand Memory, you can select a saved Brand Profile from the dropdown. This pre-fills your brief with your brand's stored details and enriches the creative context.
