"Be curious. Be brave. Be relentless. If you’re told no, find another way."
Lisa Bennett built her career by embracing challenges other creatives turned their noses up at. She pushed the boundaries on conservative brands and encouraged her teams to experiment with new approaches but doing so with intent. Lisa believes the key to impactful business building creative is to always question whether an idea is true to the brand and what it stands for. Lisa began her career at Leo Burnett rising through the ranks to Creative Director at age 27. A few years later, she was promoted to Executive Creative Director on some of the agency's high profile accounts including Heinz and Delta Airlines. After 14 years at Leo, Lisa was recruited to join DDB as Chief Creative Officer and Managing Partner of DDB West. Tasked with elevating the creative product in an office known for conservative CPG advertising, Lisa led a creative revolution – diversifying the client roster to include technology brands like Intel and McAfee and turning the office into one of the global network’s most awarded and profitable. Lisa went on to serve as CCO for two independent agencies and as Executive Director of The Lab in the School of Advertising & PR at The University of Texas before moving client-side. In her role as Vice President of Global Brand at Dell Technologies and head of the in-house creative agency, she evolved the brand positioning and identity, all while elevating the quality of the creative product on both Dell and Alienware. After building dozens of global brands across multiple categories, Lisa co-founded Scott & Lisa, a brand and creative consultancy that partners with founders to launch and grow brands. Inspired by a quote from advertising great Bill Bernbach: ‘The future, as always, belongs to the brave’, Lisa continually reminds herself and her teams to take risks. She believes that great creative leaders champion even the smallest acts of bravery. Not just in the work they do, but in challenging the status quo.
